GNS3 and Packet Tracer labs
Open a lab, find what is broken, fix it, export or convert it.

Open a lab
- Drag and drop a
.gns3,.gns3projector.pktfile onto the window. - Or click the project chip at the top ("No project") and choose Load a project file (GNS3 or .pkt).
- With GNS3 running, choose Follow the project open in GNS3. BlueMesh then follows the project you have open in GNS3 by itself.
Open labs show as tabs. The GNS3 lab switch under the message box sends the lab to the AI with your question.
Find what is broken
Ask in plain words, for example "Why can't PC1 ping the server?" or type /diagnose. BlueMesh reads every device, cable and configuration and answers with the cause and the fix.
On the topology panel (right side) click Check network health. Cables and devices turn green (fine), amber (have a look) or red (down), with a list of each problem and its fix.
Apply a fix
When BlueMesh proposes commands, they come on a card. Nothing changes until you click the button on the card. Turn on Auto-apply if you want fixes applied at once. Every change can be undone and is listed in the command history.
Packet Tracer files are never changed in place. Save your changed lab with Export.
Check my work
Labs with goals (from the lab templates) have a Check my work button. It shows what is done and what is still to do.
Export and convert
On the topology panel, open the export menu:
- From a GNS3 lab: GNS3 (.gns3) or Convert to Packet Tracer (.pkt).
- From a Packet Tracer lab: Packet Tracer (.pkt) or Convert to GNS3 (.gns3).
Before converting, BlueMesh lists every device that will be swapped or removed, because the two programs do not have the same devices. In Packet Tracer, routers become Cisco 2911 and switches 2960. In GNS3, routers become c7200 (you need your own c7200 image) and switches the built-in switch.
PDF report
Click Share > Export PDF report (or press Ctrl+Shift+E). The report has the topology, the conversation and the findings. Good for a teacher or a ticket.
Picture to lab
Add a picture or PDF of a network diagram to your question. BlueMesh reads it on your computer and opens What BlueMesh read: the devices and cables it found. Fix any wrong device type, model or port, then click Build this as a lab. Building a lab from a picture needs Pro or Team.
